Co-Founder & Executive Chef
Heili Zimmerman
Heili’s culinary journey began in her teenage years, where an early interest in food and event catering sparked a lifelong passion. She went on to study at Wits Hotel School, earning both a Certificate and Diploma in Catering Management. During her studies, she gained valuable experience working alongside established Johannesburg-based caterers and chefs.
Drawing on this wealth of experience, Heili founded Catering Edge, building a company known for high-quality food, professional service, and exceptional attention to detail. Today, she continues to lead with creativity and dedication, bringing inspired culinary experiences to every event.
Co-Founder & Executive Chef
Grant Zimmerman
Grant began his culinary career with an internship at Sun International, where he worked as a Chef de Partie. He then accepted a position at Aventura Resorts in Warmbaths, gaining hands-on experience in high-volume resort kitchens.
After relocating back to Johannesburg, Grant took on the role of managing the canteen at Alexander Forbes in Sandton. When Heili reached out to ask for help with some catering functions, Grant joined forces with her—and what began as collaboration quickly grew into a successful business venture.
As co-founder of Catering Edge, Grant brings extensive culinary experience, operational know-how, and a deep commitment to quality and service. Together with Heili, he continues to create memorable food experiences for clients across corporate and private events.
The Edge at Knightsbridge
Knightsbridge is the home of Catering Edge and proudly hosts The Edge at Knightsbridge. Grant and Heili are the dedicated operators of Central Park, overseeing the Conference Centre and Restaurant to ensure a welcoming space for events, dining, and professional gatherings.
